where to stay

I am looking to stay in the Alsace region, possibly either Colmar or Andlau. Can anyone recommend a self catering rental property in this area please? Also any advice on the area is welcome as I haven%26#39;t been here before.

I%26#39;ve used www.homelidays.com a couple of times to find places and was quite impressed. Individual owners put up properties and the site just puts you in contact - it also has reviews by past renters.

Advice on the area is difficult not knowing your preferences/family make up etc. There is a Disney style amusement park (Europa Park) if you like roller coasters etc, there are the Vosges Mountains and the Black Forest if you like nature and hiking/skiing depending on the season. Alsace has the wine route with vineyards and beautiful medieval villages and the cities of Basel, Freiburg and Strasbourg are close by. In the Black Forest there are a lot of Spa towns that have thermal waters that are nice to relax in for a few hours (Close to Colmar are Badenweiler and Bad Krozingen).
