Taxis from Port Maillot

We are getting a shuttle bus from Beauvais airport to Port Maillot, Monday afternoon.

Is it easy to get a taxi from Port Maillot - our hotel is on Rues des Ecoles - or should we take the metro/bus?

We have never been to Paris before and I am wondering is the metro hard to use at first? Don%26#39;t want to get lost on the first afternoon!! Thanks in advance!

The metro is dead handy to use but at the same time I always think that when you arrive in a city for the very first time it%26#39;s best to grab a taxi and just get to your hotel, dump your bags and relax.

When the bus drops you off in the car park, walk around the huge hotel to the other side where you%26#39;ll find a taxi rank (about 8 doors down from the James Joyce pub).

I%26#39;m a big fan of public transportation...but to get to from PORTE MAILLOT, to your neighborhood on rue des Ecoles in the 5eme-Latin Quarter (probably MAUBERT-MUTUALITÉ on the #10 ligne) you would need to make two train changes en route....perhaps not the best time or way to start learning how to use the Metro system. There are regular taxi stands near the BVA Shuttle drop-off point. The TAXI PARISIEN fare from Porte Maillot, across town to rue des Ecloles would probably run 12-15 €.

Thanks a million for the advice! We%26#39;ll go for the taxi so! Perhaps we%26#39;ll tackle the metro the following day.

Hi, I will travel to Paris on March 11 with a friend, we are also getting a shuttle bus from beauvais to port maillot monday afternoon, do we have time to pick our bags and buy the tycket for the shuttle bus? That%26#39;s because we arrive at 14h10 and the bus leaves at 14h30 and I%26#39;m a little bit concerned... if we have time to pick up that specific bus or we can take the next one...if you can tell me I will appreciate. Thanks

YRS...AÉROPORT BEAUVAIS-TILLÉ is a small regional airport, well north (approx.70 km) of Paris. BVA Shuttle departures from BVA to PARIS-Porte Maillot are timed to flight arrivals (14:10--FR9135 from Porto?) so you assuming your inbound flight arrives on time, you should have no difficulty making your way through the small BVA terminal to the BVA Shuttle departure point out in fron of the terminal. If you flight arrives late, there will be another shuttle bus waiting to meet it.

If you%26#39;re that concerned about available time, you may pre-purchase your BVA Shuttle tickets on-line.

You can check the TIMETABLE %26gt;%26gt; Flight Schedule page of the Aéroport BVA web site for flight arrival and shuttle departure times--

You can get a taxi from boulevard gouvion st. cyr since there are lots of hotels there including the le meridien etoile and the palais de congres is near port maillot there. It won%26#39;t be much of a problem.

I think I will purchase my tickets online, thanks for the info (:

hi, we have just got back from paris (sunday), so check out my report fro any bits that may help you.

we arrived at Beauvais on new years day, the airport is as small as everyone suggests, once you are through you are literally at the doors to get outside! there is a shuttle bus ticket office just inside the doors, however it is cash only, if you go out of the main doors, there is a ticket office where you can use cards. NOTE the following:

1, We bought return tickets, there is no discount for doing so. If you bought singles to Paris, you can buy singles back from Porte Maillot ticket office. however, i am glad we got returns, we were advised that the bus back to Beauvais would be 3 hours before takeoff time, which in our case meant a 7.30am bus. we made our way there by Metro, got there at 7.15, there was the usual chaos at bus stops where everyone is scared of getting the wrong bus (although they all go to Beauvais...i think), and panic as the bus fills. the first bus left at 7.25, our bus went pretty soon after. there were loads of flights going elsewhere so i%26#39;m sure we could have got a later bus, particularly as we went for the internet check in!

2, When we were booking out of our hotel at 6.30am, there was a flier on the desk, we could have had a 1hour shuttle bus straight from the hotel too Beauvais at a cost of 17euro each, 4e more than the bis ticket. however, take off the 3.20 metro ticket, it would have cost 4.80e extra, we could have had a lie in, and could have avoided the extreme cold!!

i%26#39;m not sure we would have gone for it, but it may suit others better. i never saw or heard anything about the shuttle elsewhere, in hindsight and for future, i will be checking with hotels to see if they do any deals on shuttles.

check out my report when its posted, hope you have as great a time as we did.

Are you sure that 17€ airport shuttle fare was from Paris out to BEAUVAIS airport ??...rather than to CDG or ORLY?? One-way, shared shuttle services between the more frequented CDG and ORLY run 18€-to-23€ per person. Most of the shuttle services I%26#39;ve ever seen that do runs to BVA, charge substantively (2x-3x) more. BVA is much farther out from Paris than either CDG or ORLY. Shared shuttle services from Paris out to BVA also tend to have a much higher degree of problems with reliability (%26#39;no shows%26#39;).
