First time visitors to Paris??

I will be travelling to Paris in March along with 3 girlfriends to celebrate 40th birthday, we are looking for suggestions of where to stay ideally we are looking for a nice parisian apartment, I also looking for some suggestions on a place we could go to celebrate a 40th birthday!

I suggest that you use the %26quot;search%26quot; function at the top of this forum to retrieve more information about apartments.

Also, I suggest that you read for awhile on this forum to get information.

Do you know what area of Paris you wish to stay in. Favorite areas are arrondissements: 4, 5, 6. The zip codes are 75004, 75005, 75006. Arrondissements 1-7 are genuinely fine.

You will need to figure out what your price range is. How long are you staying.

What types of things do you like to do? Are you looking for a restaurant, night club, theatre, opera/ballet, etc.?

My favorite part of Paris is the 6th District on the Left Bank -- specifically, the area bounded by the Seine River on the north, Blvd. St Germain on the south, Blvd. St Michel on the east, and Rue Bonaparte on the west. I spent days just walking around the area, enjoying the cafes, the river, and the colorful/charming atmosphere. It%26#39;s truly the essence of Paris in my judgement.

I would suggest you read this trip report and blog about someone else%26#39;s fortieth birthday celebration.

put bigfatfortieth in the search box at the top as trip advisor will not let me post it .

As to apartments, last year we stayed in this great two bedroomed apartment in the 5th arrondisement.

Hi Denise

Many thanks for your recommendation, I have checked out the website and the apartment looks lovely, just one quick question I noticed that it sleeps four.. and it seems to have 2 double beds in the bedrooms. Is there a sofa bed available as well??

Many thanks

I celebrated my 40th in Paris four years ago. We stayed in the Marais, which is very centrally located, and is walking distance to the bars near Oberkampf and the Bastille. The Marais has great cafes and bars also. I have stayed all over central Paris and prefer the Marais for location, restaurants, and proximity to bars. :-)

Thanks for your recommnedation, can you recommend anywhere to stay in the area, we have been considering an apartment but are open to ideas.

thanks

How about this place? Room for everyone (three bedrooms plus a den and two bathrooms!). It%26#39;s in the 6th/St Germain, near all the great boutiques and bistros:

I%26#39;ve stayed there with my family but could absolutely picture being there with a group of friends...you%26#39;ll love it!

We rented from www.parisstays.com and it was wonderful. We had an apartment right on the Isle St. Louis. Great location, quiet, and beautiful.

They have an office open everyday too for help with reservations or questions. Even called the night before we left to confirm pickup to the airport.
