Alone in Paris at New Year - what to do!

I am going to be in Paris on New Years Eve .. alone! I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions about places to stay and go where i could meet fellow travellers and have a good time!??

sorry, already moved on to chartres. next is budapest, vienna, then munich if you%26#39;ll be there
