Has anyone stayed at any of these hotels?

Hello! I posted this under %26quot;Cheap Hotels%26quot; and I think a lot of people didn%26#39;t respond because there are so many posts asking for cheap hotels.

Actually, I was wondering if anyone has heard of the hotels I have listed below and if anyone can recommend or unrecommend :-) any of them....

My husband and I will be in Paris March 4-7, 2009.

We are looking for a cheap, clean room. We aren%26#39;t picky, we don%26#39;t spend much time in our room. So as long as the hotel is clean and close to a metro station so we can get places then we are happy.

Grand Hotel Nouvel Opera

Avenir Hotel Montmartre

Aux Trois Portes

Libertel Canal Saint Martin

Novex

Hotel Iliade Paris XVIII

Best Western le Saint Maurice

Thank you for any help you can give, Melissa

The problem isn%26#39;t so much that lots of people ask about %26quot;cheap hotels,%26quot; it%26#39;s that what is cheap to one person may not be to another. It will help people give you useful information if you indicate (preferably in euros, as that%26#39;s how the hotels will be priced) your approximate per-night budget.

Under $100 usd or ~$72 euros.

thanks!

At least some of the hotels you list have been reviewed here on the forum - do a search in the upper left corner of this page to pull up the reviews.

Of the above listed, the Grand Hotel Nouvel Opera (and maybe the Libertel Canal St Martin) would be the only ones I%26#39;d consider very much. The others don%26#39;t seem very appealing or convenient.

At this point, $72US is now pretty much the 1* range...

Thank you 1BC - I%26#39;ve done that, that%26#39;s where I got the names from, I was hoping for a personal recommendation or unrecommendation out of the whole group.

hi,

we just got back, i would recommend the hotel de Beaune. It cost us 85e/ night, its right in the centre, minutes walk from the Louvre. I have put more detail on my trip report, check it out.

DOH! I meant 72€ ! (low even for a 2* these days)

Sorry...can%26#39;t add anything substantive to your list...except to suggest that some of those listed are incoveniently situated for access except via Metro.

As alternative choices, check out these better, more conveniently situated basic 1-stars that should be within or near your budget range--
