Tax vs Train

I am arrivng in Pau airport and wanting to get to and from Lourdes. I assumed that there was a bus from the airport to the train station but have read that it no longer operates. I also read that there was a bus or navettes from the airport directly to Lourdes in the Rough Guide (published 2007). It would seem that this also appears to be incorrect from the information I have read online here. Is taking a taxi to teh train station my only option?

There is no longer a navette between Pau airport and station. Your options are to get a taxi to the station or a taxi into Lourdes. The best option for you will depend on how many of you there are and how pressed for time you are. If you plan to get a taxi all the way to Lourdes, it is normally cheaper to pre-book a taxi from Lourdes (cost between about 75 and 100 euros - evenings, Sundays and Bank Holidays are more expensive)

Thanks for the information. It%26#39;s hard booking things after reading all the informtion and then getting a bit of a shock after finding out the most important part about transport is wrong. The reason I booked to pau was because of the very cheap flight price and the ease of which it appeared you could get from the airport to trains and so on. I will have to take the taxi then train option as I am a solo traveller and a taxi that far alone is far too much.

Thanks again

You didn%26#39;t say when you will be traveling? There will be a direct flight from Stanstead to Lourdes starting in March. (see FAQ sticky). However, if this is not an option don%26#39;t worry too much about taking a taxi and train through Pau. It%26#39;s really not too arduous.
