Homesick CA girl looking for French coastal destination

Hi, I have been living in Germany for over 10 years and I do not get back to CA as often as I%26#39;d like. Can anyone advise me on a vacation location in France which might remind me of favorite CA spots like Big Sur, Marin County, Morrow Bay, Monterey, etc. Thank you...

I have only seen those places in tacky TV shows but could look at the area of Biarritz, Bayonne and Hossegor as a starting point.

That is great help. I will check it out. Thank you!

A %26#39;rough%26#39; Coastline that I can think of that would be a bit reminiscent of Big Sur and around Monterey would be along the Brittany Coast, somewhere on the Finistere Peninsula for example.

You could also have a look at the more northern Brittany Coast, like the Cote Emeraud or Cote Granit Rose.

Have you been down to the coast of the Côte d%26#39;Azur? That region is very similar to the San Diego area.

Otherwise, head to Brittany.

I don%26#39;t think there are any areas on the west coast of France with quite the population density as the places you remember in California, but some do get close during the summer months. If you want to go somewhere comfortable, with great food and wine, then you should head for the Basque coast in the southwest. I think you%26#39;ll enjoy it.

If you%26#39;re thinking about going, then you may want to read Maribel%26#39;s Guide to the Pays Basque (maribelsguides.com).
