decent econo hotel near Gare de l'est

I just need a place for one night within walking distance of Gare de l%26#39;est. Decent and inexpensive. Thanks.

I wouldn%26#39;t stay in that are anymore. There used to be a good hotel called the Modern Est there, but the last time I was there (3-4 yrs ago), the neighborhood had definitely changed for the worse. With the convenience of the Paris Metro system, there%26#39;s no need to stay there.
