Staying in Montmartre for the first time. Can anyone recommend restaurants in Montmatre and Pigalle.

I%26#39;ve tried neither of these, but they were recommended by people whose opinions of all things Montmartre I value:
Relais Gascon at 6 r. des Abbesses for great salads and Brasserie Wepler at 14 Place Clichy

As I see that you are new on Paris forum, I suggest that you use the search box, just type %26quot;restaurant montmartre%26quot; and you will find a lot of threads, for example this one:
tripadvisor.com/…15104173
You should avoid the touristic area (place du Tertre), but there are plenty of good restaurants rue Lepic and in the rue des Martyrs area.
You should be more specific in order to get adequate recommendations: what kind of restaurant you like, what price range?

One of the best meals we had in Paris was at Pomodero. We stumbled upon it, worth looking into where it is in Montmare. It was an Italian restaurant. The atmosphere was great and things were made fresh daily in the kitchen by the owner (who is from Italy) He made us feel right at home and even gave us two drinks on the house. Between the four of us, we had the special of the day, lasagna, calzone, pizza, tirimasu, house wine, grappa, and it was all wonderful.

Le Refuge des Fondus
17 rue des 3 Frères, 75018
It is a really great fondu place and they give you wine in baby bottles. It%26#39;s even better with a group of friends. The food was awesome!

Generally, I%26#39;d agree and say avoid Place du Tertre for dining. However, I%26#39;ve had lunch a couple of times in La Cremaillere and have been very pleased with the food and service. The last time, a few weeks ago, I had the Cassoulette de Poisson and it was terrific. The fresh pastas are very nice as is the moules mariniere.
Sadly, it%26#39;s artwork in the square that%26#39;s not highly original anymore and half of the stands are now portraitists of varying talent.

I like
1. la Divette du moulin
2. Chamare Montmartre
3. chez Catherine on place du Tertre
4. Charlot, roi du coquillage place Clichy
