Taking my girlfriend away - accomodation recommendations 5/6

Hi guys,

Trying to find some accomodation in paris for saturday sunday and monday nights as im taking my girlfriend away for our anniversary but im a student so dont really have more than £150 to spend on accomodation could push to 200 if its special.

From looking on the forum people recommend the latin quarter/st germain for first timers.... So can anyone recommend any nice hotels in those areas within budget? or appartments? or an alternative area.

Much appreciated

James

James, do you mean your budget is 150 pounds a night, or for the three days,, and what is that in euros.. it helps if you post in euros as the board here is interantional and we all have different currencies. Its a pain for everyone to have to look up other peoples conversions.

A good budget hotel in an excellant area is Hotel Eugenie. I have not stayed there, but I did ask to see some rooms last time I was in Paris( this past summer) as I love the area, and the prices, and the rooms were clean and decent.

Also look at Hotel Du College De France, it doesn%26#39;t have a/c so I would likely not stay there in July or August, but for any other time it looks nice to me and is in a great area. At the end of Feb I pulled rates up of 89 euros a night for a double, so I think that is only around 80 pounds,, a good deal I would think.

Oh ok thanks,

my budget is for the 3 nights and is about 200 euros or less if possible, so far the best ive found Les Argonautes at 210euros, any good?

It doesnt look like im going to get anything much better but if anyone knows of anything please help :)

Thanks.

Well according to the reveiws , it is clean, so other then what I am sure is a noise issue( it is on a very noisey street, but otherwise good area), then go for it,, It certainly meets your budget, but I guess it would not fall under my idea of %26quot;nice%26quot;,, but you are young and likely just want clean and cheap really.

Have fun and bring earplugs( hey I%26#39;m not kidding, you may not care about the noise late at night as you may yourselves be out and about, but garbage trucks at 7 am would be not fun!

Hi James,

You could try Hotel des Voyageurs. It has double rooms at 55 Euro (about £50?) a night. It%26#39;s not in the Latin Quarter but it is close to a Metro stop.

Here%26#39;s the link:

You could also check out www.accorhotels.com - sometimes you can get good deals for Ibis hotels through them.

Have fun in Paris,

Em

I%26#39;ve stayed at Les Argonautes and found it to be a nice budget hotel. As far as the noise issue--it was surprisingly quiet as long as the windows were closed. There is a Greek restaurant downstairs and it%26#39;s situated in the most touristy part of the 5th arr. but convenient to everything. St. Michel metro a block away.

If you%26#39;re looking for fancy, look elsewhere; but for convenient comfort this will do--did it for me that one visit. I prefer apartments now, though.
