Hi,
We will only have 2 days in Paris and we thought we%26#39;d do a tour on the first day to get our bearings in the city and to visit Versailles. Leaving our second day free for wandering.
I%26#39;ve come across a company called paris-trip.com who offer a combination tour that would be perfect for us. I just wondered if anyone had used them or had any experience with their tours?
Thanks

I just checked their website, and saw a minibus tour of Versailles. Usually on these types of tours you get enough time to see the palace and gardens, and that is about it within this time frame. I am a tour guide and we usually do a 4 hour tour from Paris and back. This one claims to do also the Petit trianon and grand trianon, but in my opinion it would be a drive through, maybe with a photo stop, not an actual visit. Ask them to specify as Versailles is reorganising the access (they ask for an entrance fee) to the trianons and the company may charge this onto the ticket, or may skip it for convenience

Thanks for the tip Raphy :-)
Anyone else have any experience with paristrip.com ?

We%26#39;re considering using Paris-trip.com for an excursion from Paris to Normandy in June. Any info on this company would be greatly appreciated.

We did a Paris Trip tour last year. It was a Morning orientation tour of Paris + Lunch at Eiffel Tower + Versailles visit in the afternoon.
We were very happy with our tour. There were only 5 passengers in a small tour bus so we received very personal attention from the driver/guide.

I recently came back from Paris (Dec 2008) and I used paris-trip.com for 2 day trips.
First we went with the Versailles trip. They picked up us on time and the driver was very friendly and knowledgeable. There were only 6 people on this trip. The driver gives you a history lesson throughout the drive which is very nice. He talks about Paris as well as Versailles. He drops you off right in front, escorts you in and tells you where to meet him afterwards. Although the driver was nice and the ride was nice, turns out that this particular trip might be a waste. Versailles is very close to Paris and you can just take the train (6 euros round trip I think) and you might have a better time at a more leisurely pace and save yourself some money. I paid 144 euros for my wife and me. This is just my personal opinion of course. Please note, the service itself is superb but for Versailles, you might get more out of it and save money if you just venture by yourself a little. That is not to say Paris-Trip.com is not a great service...just read on to my next trip.
The 2nd trip, was a tour of Loire Valley and three castles: Amboise, Chanceneau and Chambord. This 2nd trip was absolutely amazing and worth every single penny. It%26#39;s a 12 hour trip and they pick you up very early in the morning (6:20 am for us). The drive to the first castle (Amboise) is about 2 hours. Same thing as before, driver gives you a bit a preview and history lesson. When you arrive at the castle, the driver will give you a tour of about half the castle! That was really fun and informative. These castles are huge so they keep the tour to like an hour and then you have anywhere between 1 to 2 hours free time to wander around. After Amboise, the driver even tooks us to a famous chocolatier in town and got to taste some of the most amazing chocolates. After Amboise, went to Chanceneau and same, tour and free time. After this we went to have lunch. Lunch is included and I thought it would be some packed lunch or something similar. Nope, we went to this really cute restaurant in town and it was a full meal. Appetizers, salad, wine, bread, your choice of entree and great desserts. It was great. Went to the last castle, Chambod, and it was great. Biggest castle by far. All in all, this trip was was well worth it. Paid 350 euros for my wife and I but you get amazing value. Great company. Would highly recommend.
