Advice please. We are in Paris in June for two nights. We will be going to the Stadt de France on one of these evenings. We will be arriving by eurostar into Gard du Nord. Should we stay in that area for ease of travel i.e to the stadium and back to the eurostar on our final morning or do you think we should opt for the Latin Quarter. Will it be easy to get to and from the stadium to the Latin Quarter? I understand the Latin Quarter is a better area but do you think it is worth the extra travel etc.
Many Thanks.

The extra travel is exactly 2 minutes by train on the RER-B. You can stay anywhere along the RER-B route, Gare du Nord, Chatelet; St-Michel/Notre Dame, Luxembourg, Port Royal, Denfert Rochereau, or Cité Universitaire and the difference is just a few minutes.

No question - definitely stay in the Latin Quarter. It is a far nicer area with a great choice of bars, cafes and restaurants and handy for visiting many of the main tourist attractions on foot.
The RER B train service is accessible from the St. Michel and Luxembourg stations in the area to get you to and from the Gard du Nord and Stade de France.

Another vote for the Latin Quater.

I first must confess to not knowing the precise boundaries of the Latin Quarter, but I believe it to lie principally in the 5th District. Either contained within the Quarter, or immediately adjacent is the St Germain neighborhood of the 6th District. The area bounded by the Seine, Blvd. St Germain, Rue Bonaparte, and Blvd St. Michel is full of the charm and color that so many of us associate with Paris. I spent 10 days there and never tired of the classic Paris feeling I got while walking neighborhood. Highly recommended.
