Which of these apartment should I choose?

I need some help please, I%26#39;ve narrowed my choice of apartments down to two mainly due to the facilities within them and price but I%26#39;m not sure which of them is located in the best area and hoped that somebody could give me some advice.

Apartment 1 is situated in the 10th Arr near Canal St Martin on Rue Lucien Sampaix, more details can be found here http://www.holiday-rentals.co.uk/p401882

Apartment 2 is in the 18th Arr, Montmatre and is located on Passage Lepic see homelidays.com/paris-18-montmartre/studio160… for more details.

I want to stay somewhere which is safe and has a good feel of Paris to it, ideally with good local restaurants, cafes and bars too.

I’ve been to other areas of France recently but not been to Paris for around 15 years so any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I would prefer the Rue Lepic location, however I%26#39;m not crazy about the sofa bed situation.

I would prefer the Canal Saint Martin apartment exactly for the same reason as Suzanne: if you rent an apartment it is to get an apartment, isn%26#39;t it, not only one single room! Up to you of course but I don%26#39;t like sleeping on a sofa bed, having to fold and unfold the bed every day...

Canal Saint Martin area is not the most central area (but rue Lepic isn%26#39;t either), but is a young trendy area, the canal has a lot of charm and you will find a lot of nice cafés and restaurants. The fact that the windows overlook a courtyard is great as it will be calm.

I much prefer the apartment in the 10th. It looks MUCH nicer. I like the courtyard view and quiet. The decor seems nice. You have a bed, not a sofabed (although that is definitely not a dealbreaker for me.) The 10th arrondissement is a popular area these days. I%26#39;m not an expert about the Montmartre area but I don%26#39;t recall Rue Lepic as being particularly nice. I realize this is on Passage Lepic which is probably a little side street. The 10th arrondissement is also a little closer to the center of town.

One question: Apartment 1 says it is a one bedroom apartment but then it shows pictures of Bedroom 1 and Bedroom 2. What%26#39;s up with that?

At ± the same price have a look at

feelslikehomeinparis.com/ModernLiving.html

from Feels Like Home In paris.

It is also very close to Canal St-Martin, almost at the corner Rue du Faubourg du Temple, a few minutes walk from Métro République. A bit larger than the other one you mentioned but has a balcony (very convenient)

This year it will be our 2nd stay there and we loved the area, not only for the Canal. Lot of shops and close to a Monoprix and to Rue Oberkampf for boutiques and restaurants.

A few bus lines around will bring you to Pont-Neuf and Rue de Rivoli (bus no 72).

Thanks for all your advice, you%26#39;ve helped me make up my mind.

Just to answer a couple of your questions, firstly to In_Love_With_Paris, what%26#39;s shown as bedroom 2 is just the sofa bed opened up.

Secondly, yymca6 the apartment you recommended looks brilliant but is more expensive than the Canal St Martin apartment. The owner has offered me 4 nights in February for €300 and with the British Pound performing so badly against the Euro at the moment I need to save as much money as possible!

Thanks again for your help.

I think Canal Saint-Martin is a good deal at this price. If you are the young couple I guess you are(your profile doesn%26#39;t tell much), you%26#39;ll love the area!

|||

Thanks Only-Lyon, we%26#39;re in our early thirties so not too young, but not so old either!
