darkness in paris

Is it dark in Paris at the beginning of May as we were thinking of doing the Seine dinner cruise?

Thanks

This is a very handy tool for figuring out sunset time for any location and time period you choose:

In early May, sunset would take place after 9 pm.

At night-time, wherever you are, it%26#39;s dark...

I was there in May some 20 years ago, don%26#39;t remember evenings then; went in June %26#39;08 and we went on the Vendettes du Pont Neuf cruise at 9:00 and it was not dark yet, at all. In fact, I have pictures of my kids taken in Tuileries with E.T. in background the night before we left, it was 10:00 or so and still twilight-y.

The river cruises boats have very strong spotlights and major monuments are lighted. It is actually more magical and beautiful in the evening than during the day..unless it rains.

We took the batteaux mouches one night on a trip to Paris and the lights from the ship were so bright that they obscured the sights along the banks. I wouls suggest going with one of the others at night. The Vedettes de Pont Neuf, for example.
