Restaurant tip for 40th

Hi All, I have arranged a trip for my wife and her friends and sisters to paris in feb for her 40th birthday. We are staying in Hotel Duret and was planning on going to a nice restaurant for a meal. One of the girls is a veggie and i would like somewhere thats great atmosphere and decor with great food.Perhaps near some pubs for partying afterwards. I was thinking of SPOON what do you think. My budget is about 100.00 euro per head for food. Thanks in advance.Brendan Dublin.

Hotel Duret is a very nice hotel. There are many restaurants in the area. Rue Arsene Houssaye near Arc de Triomphe has several. Depends how far you want to travel. Marbeuf on rue Marbeuf has a great decor kind or art nouveau, For good atmostphere try Dupont Durand in Neuilly (also on line 1 of the metro). I also like Le Sud near Porte Maillot and then go for some drinks at 33rf floor of Concorde Lafayette (views!) or jazz at Meridien Hotel near by.

With a €100 per head budget for food, the 1* La Table du Lancaster at the boutique Hotel Lancaster may be worth a look.

In that area, we%26#39;ve also really enjoyed La Table de Lauriston (129 rue de Lauriston - about a 20 mins walk from your hotel). It%26#39;s an upmarket bistro.

Spoon sounds great to me! AnneParis had a party there once and reviewed it here. She said it was a great place to celebrate a bday and she knows of what she speaks! Try a search...

It depends of course of the kind of atmosphere and decor you like, classic or contemporary. I also like Spoon, the %26quot;festal%26quot; food presentation is perfect for a birthday and it is veggie friendly (they have delicious soups, salads and veggie %26quot;pasta pots%26quot;). Go there if you like trendy %26quot;bobo%26quot; atmosphere!

I also like %26quot;Les Ombres%26quot; at the quai Branly museum, I think the view is amazing, one of the most beautiful in Paris, that could make a really special treat for your wife%26#39;s birthday:

If you prefer a romantic classic decor, have a look at %26quot;1728%26quot;:

Hi All,

Thankyou so much for your input all the options are super, my wife has discovered a restaurant called BOFINGERS which is a great looking place full of atmosphere. But i have lots of great suggestions to review so thanks again all.

Regards,

Brendan.

You might also look at La Coupole, which is owned by the same company as Bofinger.

It has a fun, lively atmosphere.

Bofingers is not at all of the same calibur. Fun, but not great cuisine. Part of the Flo Brasserie chain. I take my kids to their addresses for their birthdays.
