Is the Port a good area to stay?

I am thinking about renting a place just east of the port near Louisa Parc and wondering if that is not a very convenient area to stay if I want to go Place Massena and the bus station and the old town. I plan to walk everywere. Thanks. Debbie

Its an ok place to stay but it will be a walk of 20 mins or so to the tram station at place garibaldi or say half an hour to the old town /bus station with place massena being another say 10 mins on top.

The Port is a lovely place to stay (I have an apartment there so I%26#39;m slightly biased, lol) but Parc Louisa is on the way out of Nice away from the Port and up a hill too, on the way to Mont Boron and is mostly residential. My very first trip to Nice was at the Hotel Agata (now new apartments) which was on Boulevard Carnot near Parc Louisa. It had fantastic views because of the elevation and walking down to Nice for the beach and Old Town was no hardship. Walking home however was up-hill and quite hard work although I was pushing a buggy at the time so maybe it just seemed harder. We felt the area was a little out of Nice but it in no way affected our holiday, we liked it so much we bought an apartment that holiday. Everywhere is still very walkable from here plus you will be close to a bus route and there is a small public beach on that side of the Port at La Reserve (there was a private one there, now closed) You are very handy for the Port restaurants which are on both sides of the Port and there is a large new Champion supemarket which might be within walking distance for you.

yes, the Port is a good area, I defintively recommand

I checked on a map, I don%26#39;t know exactly where is the building but be careful about the noise from the trafic because you will be near the middle cornice

you will be at 5/10min by walk to the port, 5 min to the beach, may be 20/30 min to place massena, 20 min to old town...

a lot of buses
