Where To Stay Paris - Advice appreciated

Hi..

New to trip advisor and desperately looking for assistance if you can.

My wife and I are having a little two night break in Paris Mid March (We%26#39;re both late 30%26#39;s). Seeking a nice hotel, handy location, ideally with breakfast included, and looking to keep an eye on the pennies - say 75 euros a night max.

Anyone offer any advice / opinion? Or am I asking for the earth??

Much appreciated

Hi,

I think you should raise your limit. 75 euros is not very much and to expect breakfast included I feel, is asking too much. I am staying in the 6th again as it is centrally located. Good Luck

I think may be you can stay hostels? it will be cheap and breakfast included or budget hotels like Prelude Hotel which is famous nice budget hotel! the full name of the hotel is Prelude Hotel Gare du Nord

wish you great stay in Paris

Here are a few ideas. Some cost a little more than you requested:

Familia Hotel, 11 rue des Ecoles in the 5th arrondissement. Metro: Jussieu, Mardinal-Lemoine, Maubert-Mutualite. Doubles are about 86E

Hotel du Dragon: website: www.hoteldudragon.com

located at 36 rue du Dragon in the 6th. Metro: Saint-Germaine-des-Pres or Secres-Babylone. A double costs about 90E

Hotel Delambre, standard room for 1 or 2 people is 80E. Their email is: hotel@hoteldelambre.com. It is located at 35 rue Delambre in the 14th arrondissement.

How about Pension Les Marronniers. You rent a room in a huge house. You also get to enjoy the library and sitting room. They say there are 12 furnished rooms, most of them have a shower but only one has a WC in it. Each room has a small refrigerator and direct-dial phone. The fee of 54-82E for a double includes breakfast in the morning at at 7pm a home-cooked three-course meal is included. This Pension is overlooking the beautiful Jardin du Luxembourg. The website is www.pension-marronniers.com. Their email address is: o_marro@club-internet.fr

When Les Marronniers is fully booked, the owner sends people to the Residence Pension Ladagnous which is another pension in the same building and has 24 rooms. It apparently doesn%26#39;t have the nice family atmosphere of Les Marronniers. Breakfast is included. Dinner is an additional 10E per night and the cost for a double is 58E per night.

www.central-hotel-paris.com in the 14th arrondissement is a 2 star hotel near the Tour Montparnasse. Apparently they offer a 6E discount if you sign up on line.

This place looks adorable to me: Lux Hotel Picpus. The website is:

The rooms seem to be very inexpensive.

My recommendation about breakfast is that French pastries are very inexpensive and they made a great breakfast. Bread from a boulangerie is very inexpensive too and with some jam or cheese on it, you can easily be transported to heaven. Therefore, paying for breakfast in a cafe, etc. can be much more expensive that just doing something simple. It also allows you not to be too fill so that at lunch time you can sit down somewhere and enjoy a nice lunch. Anyway, that is what I like to do.

Hi schuks..I %26#39;ve just posted this link on another thread. Hotel Montpensier. Very central and rooms from 71 euros. I stayed there some years age and it was fine. Breakfast is usually extra in Paris hotels but as ILWP says finding a cafe, which is usually better value than the hotel breakfast, or buying from the local boulangerie is part of the fun.

grndma: unfortunately in the hotel you suggested you can%26#39;t get a shower, sink and WC unless you pay at least 90E or up-at least that is the way I read it. The 71E is for one person without the amenities in the room.

Wow, you are optimistic. It is of course not impossible to get a hotel for that price, but with breakfast, and %26quot;nice%26quot; is pushing it....

Look at %26quot;Hotel Perfect%26quot;, is seems like more a hostel, but has private rooms,, you may be able to afford that.

Try Novotel; they have several locations throughout Paris:

From 89 Euros incl. breakfast
