Euorostar first timer

We are looking to travel from london to paris on eurostar thursday 9th april and back on tues 14th april (ie over easter), 2 adults %26amp; 2 children. Current price is about £370 return. How does the pricing work, if we wait will it get more expensive (like easyjet etc) or might it get cheaper?

Thanks

Eurostar tickets are known to only go up in price, not down. Buy as far out as you can.

It does seem like flying would be cheaper, but don%26#39;t limit yourself to only looking at Easyjet.. you are so lucky to have many low cost carriers.

Try to be flexible with your hours. Non business hours are cheaper than business hours. Also look at all the special rates. Sometimes there are deals for families with kids. Again, be flexible for good rates.

Also, check the SNCF website daily or even hourly www.voyages-sncf.com/leisure/fr/launch/home/

The prices change constantly due to fluctuations in demand. We%26#39;ve done Paris-London for 33€ on less than three weeks notice. It took some patience but it saved us a small fortune. The prices literally change within minutes.

WE just booked our tickets for a May 6 trip Paris to London via the internet on the Eurostar site so you can books yours now. Ours are nonrefundable but much cheaper than waiting. I%26#39;d suggest that you book yours right away or at least look at what remains available in a price you can accommodate. Take a close look at alternate dates and for sure nonbusiness travel times, very early, mid-day, etc. seat61.com is a good website to answer many of your rail questions on the continent.

tap, I would like to add a thought.

Since you are travelling with children.. sometimes cheaper is not better. Taking the Eurostar is painless with kids. No long trips back and forth from airports, the Eurostar is city center to city center, and no long lines or needing to be at the station hours ahead of time. Flying time may only be one hour or so, but, all the rest of travel time and waiting time adds up.

If you kids are younger, seriously consider the Eurostar even if its a little more money.
