After much research, we%26#39;ve decided to stay in the Novotel Gare de Lyon for a trip to Paris next weekend. Can someone advise if most of the main Paris attractions are within walking distance (an hour or so) of this hotel, or if we%26#39;ll need to use
public transport?
Thanks!

Personally, I don%26#39;t believe anyone can fully visit Paris in a weeks%26#39; time without using public transport. Why drag your tired self around the city when the metro and bus system is so excellent? You%26#39;ll be using Metro line 1 often, so do take care of your belongings and be mindful of pickpockets. (no fear, just precaution).
We stayed at this hotel a few years ago, it was nice then . . .

I%26#39;m not against public transport (far from it) - was just trying to take heed of other comments on here that say it%26#39;s better to see the city by foot.
Thanks for your warnings about the Metro!

It might be easier to take the metro for a stop or two, line 14 for 1 stop to Châtelet (center) or line 1 for 2 stops to St-Paul (Marais) and start walking from there.
From Gare de Lyon you can take the 24 bus, it passes often and has a good route (Quartier Latin, StGermain-des-Prés, Tuileries), here is a link to its route www.ratp.info/orienter/f_plan.php…
Enjoy
