Just wondering if any Nice residents have noticed if the property price falls in the UK are something restricted to the UK, or if this is starting to spread to places like Nice?

I don%26#39;t see it happening here.
People have a tendency to hang on to property rather than sell at a low price. I%26#39;ve seen properties stay on the market for years and years rather than accept a drop in price.
There are some reasonable prices at the moment in Liberation borriglione gambetta cessole - these areas will continue to rise i think though

I see that on the Isle of Man too, I%26#39;ve lived here for six years and I still some property for sale here that was for sale then, but as I mentioned before, I%26#39;m thinking of British owners (who are going to feel the pinch more because of pensions and those workers paid in pounds and the poor exchange rate) and not the French owners.

i%26#39;m not sure that will be enough to cause a price slump
British owners will be more likely to rent out their properties for summer rather than sell at a loss.
I think it will be more second home owners affected than residents but again they will try and rent the property i think.

I%26#39;m afraid that sounds very plausible (sadly for me).

Don%26#39;t be too disheartened :)
Advertised prices are looking more random than ever at the moment, but we%26#39;ve seen noticeable falls in asking prices in Nice and all areas of the Riviera for properties where the owner appears serious about selling.
Inevitably, there are owners and investors from the UK, Ireland or wherever who can%26#39;t ride out the economic downturn or want to sell now, for a variety of reasons
Desperate vendors aside, desperate agents are getting far more realistic about their valuations and fees too.
If you haven%26#39;t come across it already, this thread on angloinfo may be of interest:
