Hello Paris forum - thanks for your help on our very short stayover last August.
tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g187147-i14-k20980…
We took your advice to heart, and tips from the best entrance to Louvre to avoiding the climb up Eifel worked out well.
We%26#39;re now considering another short say.
Sat Jan 31st. Arrive lunch, staying nearby Tuilleries with three small children.
Plan is to start with a hop on/off bus tour or visit a cemetry.
Then to try to find a place nearby the stairs at Montmatre (somewhere nearby the Dali museum) where we once had a hot chocolate, then eat nearby behind Sacré-Coeur or Chez La Mere which we missed on the last visit.
Sunday.
It%26#39;s the first Sunday of the month, so we%26#39;ll probably take advatage of this to take a full visit to Musee D%26#39;Orsay, a micro visit the Lourve.
The most important thing on this trip is to fit in that visit to Notre Dame that we missed out on the last time.
We would love to take in a full visit including the roof- although this may be unacceptable on a sunday?
We could switch to Saturday if need be - and possibly return again on sunday - is there a Gregorian performance by the choir each sunday?
We leave Monday morning.
Thanks for any help - and for your help last summer!

You are a real glutton for punishment to attempt to see the Louvre and the D%26#39;Orsay on the first Sunday of the month. Expect long lines at both places and lots of crowds milling about. But it will be free.
You are going to climb the stairs at Notre Dame with three small kids? I must be missing something.
Speaking of 3 small kids--you are taking them to the Louvre and D%26#39;Orsay for any length of time?
I fear that this post is not a joke! (smile!)

In fairness, how old are your kids? Perhaps I misunderstand.

My kids are teenagers and after only one hour in the crowded Louvre I could see their eyes glazing over. The closest we could get to the Mona Lisa was about 20-25 feet away.
We took our 3 nieces (ages 4, 6 and 8) to Stockholm this summer and they were the happiest with boat rides, train rides, hands on museums, and street vendor food.

Sorry, yes we did take them to the Lourve last August (first sunday) without much difficulty.
We had planned just to do a recap, and staying so close - figured that it should be as convenient as the last time armed with the tip we had recieved.
It will be their sixth trip to Paris but as yet we missed a few things suggested in the helpful thread that I had attached from last summer.
Steps are not a problem for them - they have climbed many castles and structures so far.
Thanks anyway!

I probably should have googled first, but for anyone with the same ambition, much of the information re Notre Dame is on:

ferdia35: that%26#39;s fabulous. Well then, it looks like you will probably have a wonderful time together.
