D-Day observations in Paris?

There%26#39;s a good chance we%26#39;ll be in Paris on June 6. Is this widely observed in Paris? I know they do quite a bit in Normandy but am unsure about the capital.

Actually there are no specific celebrations on June 6 in Paris (but WWII VE day on May 8 is a bank holiday).
