Can't decide which hotel to book - any advice welcome :)

Hi all,

I%26#39;m booking a trip to Paris for myself and hubby for our wedding anniversary (4 nights from 22-26 March). I am 29, he is 39, we are both fairly young at heart and this is our first trip. We tend to walk quite a bit when we%26#39;re doing city breaks, so have decided to stay as close into the centre as we can afford, and I%26#39;ve picked St Germain or the Latin Quarter as a hotel location as we like being close to restaurants and night life as well as close to some of the touristy places such as Notre Dame and the Louvre, and the metro for getting around the rest of the city. One thing I do struggle with is that I%26#39;m a light sleeper - noise and light from outside the room is a big NO - would rather pay a bit extra and know I%26#39;ll get some sleep.

I%26#39;ve picked two hotels which are in fairly close proximity, they are both run by the same hotel chain and get great reviews. One problem though - I can%26#39;t decide which to book. Have got great rates on both - can anyone give me any suggestions about the area directly around both hotels - do you think we would enjoy one more than the other? We are also working to more of a budget than I was originally planning as the pound is going down the toilet against the euro at the moment; we are not likely to be looking to eat and drink in posh surroundings for every meal so this may also be a consideration.

Hotels I%26#39;m considering are:

Hotel du Pantheon - Latin Quarter - 462 euros for 4 nights - trip advisor rating 27

Hotel Jardin de L%26#39;Odeon - St Germain - 467 euros for 4 nights - trip advisor rating 30

Thanks for any help received, it is most appreciated!

I like the location of Jardin de L%26#39;Odeon slightly better as it is on a smaller street and nearer to nice cafés and the charming part of St Germain. The hotels are very close to each other though so there isn%26#39;t a siginificant difference.

Thanks for your help, I%26#39;ve booked for the Hotel Jardin de L%26#39;Odeon (and the pound has gone up today too, hooray!), looking forward to it already.

I stayed at the Jardin de L%26#39;Odeon in 2007 and enjoyed it very much. I think the location is great. Quiet street but with a three block walk you are at Place de L%26#39;Odeon, a very lively area of Paris.
