Paris Market

I am trying not to repeat topics that have already been covered and have read a bunch of threads on street markets in Paris, but just can%26#39;t seem to figure out the answer to my question.

When we were in London last year, my daughter loved the market in Greenwich, and I wondered if anyone would know of a similar market in Paris.

I have found lots of recommendations for flea markets, but I wasn%26#39;t sure exactly what would be sold there, i.e. in the US a flea market is generally people trying to sell their old junk they don%26#39;t want anymore, and I have enough junk of my own :). I didn%26#39;t know if it was the same in Paris. The market in Greenwich had a lot of craftspeople there but not much used stuff (that we saw anyway).

We went to the Clignacourt market this year. There were loads of stalls selling clothes, leather, perfume, handbags, shoes, ethnic decorations, etc, no different from what I would find in Australian covered markets (these were stalls set up in rows in canvas). Behind them was an antique market in shops and that was rather fun, and nearby was a covered antique market that had even better quality, antiques rather than %26quot;Antique junque%26quot; if you know what I mean. A much bigger affair than the Greenwich markets.

There may well have been other aspects to this market that we did not see. It was big, but it was also raining, so we didn%26#39;t explore all of it. It was quite fun for a morning out.

I suppose the closest you%26#39;re likely to come to the Greenwich Market, down-Thames in London might be the weekly MARCHÉ de la CRÉATION-- http://www.artistesparisbastille.fr/ --every Saturday from 10am-to-7pm. It begins down around Place de la Bastille and extends north along Blvd. Richard Lenoire.

The largest flea market in Paris will be Le MARCHÉ AUX PUCES--de Saint-Ouen-- LE MARCHÉ AUX PUCES

de Saint-Ouen the one up above Porte de Clignancourt, on the #4 Metro ligne. This sprawling market has everything from cheap kitch to fine antiques...and a bit of everything in between.

What is the market that the Jackel visits to buy medals and clothes in the film The Day of the Jackel?
