When and where is the best place to buy these tikets for next year%26#39;s open? I%26#39;d love to take my daughter who plays alot of tennis (and is a tennis fanatic) for a week long mom-daughter trip to one of my favourite cities in the world!
Merci beaucoup.

What a great idea! I can%26#39;t claim to know the best way to buy tickets but your daughter must know a tennis pro. Ask him/her and take it from there...

The surest way is to become a sponsor of the event and receive tickets in comnnection with your sponsorship - I believe those opportunities start at about 200,000 euro.
Or you could find a connection at the French Federation of Tennis - they control significant blocks of tickets; find someone who participates in tennis in France or the Outre Mer and you might be surprised.
Or you could enter the ticket lottery that is held between February-March each year - about 1 in 5 of the applicants receive tickets, but I have had success three years out of the last four in the lottery (I think it helps to ask for weekday dates during the second week of play). You have to give a credit card for billing when you register and you are not notified of the results until April.
Or you could buy tickets on Craigslist. There are lots of scalpers, so pricing can be a bit of a struggle, but there are also people selling their own tickets, so that could really work.
Or buy them outside the Roland Garros complex the day you go; not recommended for visitors -- too uncrtain and too easy to have a problem (receive old or counterfit tickets, be shortchanged, overpay, etc.).
Or you could go at 3 pm and buy a limited day pass; the play typically continues until 8 pm or so.
Good luck; it is a great tournament and if you really want to attend you will be able to find tickets.

Once you have tickets, where are some good places to stay nearby?
Thanks

There are web sites like these that deal with tennis tours. You could try thru the USTA, and check out the Roland garros website. The French Open is very easy to get to from anywhere in Paris. Happy tennis !!

Hi I saw your thread on here and wanted to join in.
I%26#39;m going to be passing through on the 24th and was hoping to stop in and take in the day of tennis.
Does anyone have any recommendations about where to get a day pass - how much one should cost - and which court(s) to get the pass for?
Any information is greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much

I went this year for the second time (my first was in 2001). Both times I bought the tickets directly from the FFT website: www.fft.fr/rolandgarros/default_en.asp…
According to them, the reservation process for 2009 will start on March 1st.
I didn%26#39;t have any problems getting tickets on Center Court for the second and third day of the tournament this year (first round.) I assume it may be more difficult for later rounds.
IMO, the tour companies are way too expensive, and they charge too much for the same tickets you can get by yourself at a fraction of the prices they charge.
I%26#39;ve tried one of them only once, the first time I went to the Miami tournament in 1998, and been travelling to see tennis on my own since then (tennis fanatic here too.) If you want any more tips, please feel free to PM me.

Has anyone ever tried entering the lottery for finals tickets? Should I even bother? Thanks

Here%26#39;s the info I got from an Amex concierge back in November:
%26quot;There will be two rounds of ticket on sales before tickets will become open to the general public. It may be necessary to look into broker options if you are looking for great seats, as specific seating cannot be requested during on sales. I will forward you another update when the order form becomes available online.
French Open Reservation Periods
From October 15th, 2008 until November 15th 2008: Priority reservation period for the Presidents of French Tennis Clubs.
From December 1st, 2008 until February 28th, 2009: Priority reservation period for FTF member
From March 1st, 2008 until April 28th, 2009: Reservation period for all for orders by post (public and latecomers FTF members).
From April 28th, 2009: Only online reservations will be taken into account. An e-ticket will be sent automatically.%26quot;
As a side note, though slightly on topic, if I knew that Federer will be in the final or at least semis, I%26#39;d definitely do everything possible to get the tickets, even if it meant going through eBay/brokers/etc. But since this is an impossibility, I%26#39;ll just play it by ear and will by %26quot;at the door%26quot;. To see him win French would be a great ..... miracle :-D
